Chain Link Fence

Also known as wire netting, chain-wire fence, cyclone fence and wire-mesh fence, a chain link fence is very popular with people looking to build a strong and reliable boundary around their property or a particular area within it. This is a type of woven fence generally made from galvanized steel wire. These fences are available in different styles, sized and heights and are popular for their superior strength. These require almost no maintenance and boast a long lifespan.

A chain link fence is best suited when:

  • a boundary is needed for pets and farm animals
  • a safe boundary is required to avoid people and animals from running out on busy roads
  • a boundary is needed between property lines
  • a safety barrier is needed for sports fields, especially those with projectiles (such as tennis or baseball)

While chain link fences are very strong, these do not provide an optimum level of privacy and security. For example, a typical chain link fence is see-through. There are, however, additional features that will make your chain link fence stronger and add privacy. You can either increase the height of the fence or choose alternate material that is more difficult to cut through. Chain link fences can also be turned into electric fences, and also woven with opaque plastic to enhance their privacy.

Chain link fences can withstand very harsh weather conditions and are a good option in places where the weather conditions are unpredictable. These do not lose their integrity in rain, snow or harsh winds, as do fences made from weaker materials like wood.
